Starting with magnetic tape in the analog era, we’ve accumulated years of experience in recording studios as recorders and clients. It’s confirmed our laid back approach of helping artists make the records they want to make affordably and without compromise. We’re massive fans of homemade 4 track cassette recordings every bit as much as grand old works of the big studio era and we’ve built a unique place where you can use the spectrum of fidelity to bring your ideas to life.

The building is a rescued farmhouse built By C.E. Blount in 1978, and updated by Chris Micklethwait in 2023, we’ve reimagined the interior with an open plan, to be as comfortable and communicative as possible. The sound of the room is distinct and musical: all wood, glass, and air, with minimal sound treatment.

We’ve built a studio to be comfortable, with useful and inspiring tools at hand, so an artist feels that they've entered a zone to be creative without intrusion or external pressure. We’re surrounded by 50 acres of nature. A helpful buffer from distraction, at the same time a lovely place to wander and reset between takes.

Zona Park is named for the expansive mystery space in the Tarkovsky film Stalker. In the film, ‘The Zone’ is a place you enter to solve a quandary or a problem, accompanied by an experienced guide. You probably won’t encounter any spooky phenomena at the studio, but our mission is to go with you wherever you need to visit, so you can take home the best record you can make.
